I wonder sometimes why I’m behind on so much anime. I don’t always follow the new anime since I hate waiting each week for the episode to be released, and then I hate waiting on the subs. I tend to drop a series then pick it back up when it’s complete and just marathon the entire show. But there are a few occasions that wonder why I didn’t ever pick up a show in the first place, did it just not interest me enough? Did it not keep me entertained enough? Because that’s certainly not the case with School Rumble.
I finally decided to pick up School Rumble and give it a try. I have to admit i was reminded that i hadn’t seen this series by the wonderful members of Anime in Progress. I’m glad i started this show because I love every minute of this series, but then I’m not that far into it. I’ve only seen about 5 episodes, but it’s been a while since a series has made me stop watching all other anime to make time only for this. I tend to watch a little bit of everything at a time. But when I come across something amazing I drop all the extra shows and focus all my time on that particular series. While I am still keeping up with the newer shows, the other shows I was marathoning; Marmalade Boy, Sketchbook full colors, Idolmaster Zenoglossia, Zombie Loan and Sola have all been pushed to the backburner.
Another thing i love about this series are the characters, especially Harima, he’s utter win… *drools* Oh sorry excuse me, let me regain my composure… But honestly the characters are endearing and while at first i had no interest in Karasuma, they end up showing him do something completely strange and almost out of what we thought was his original character. These girls are also just awesome, Tenma is so sweet and she tries her best to make Karasuma notice her, poor thing. I’m also glad i picked this up since i’ve been wanting to watch something romantic yet silly, I love how it’s so over the top, yet they don’t try too hard. Oh and for my title, it’s only cause i’ve had that one phrase stuck in my head for a day now. ~Guru Guru Mawaru!~

I too have started this series not too long ago and have enjoyed every minute of it. Once I started watching, I couldn’t stop. I think I might even watched the entire first season in a day or two. One of my all time favorite animes.

School Rumble is one of my top favorite series, although the first season is way better than the second, not saying that the second one is not good but the first one is better.
Two new OVAs will be released this year in July, if the sales are good then they’ll make a third season.

School Rumble is awesome, one of the best anime series for me of all-time. Watched this a few years back. 2nd season is not so good, I agree, compared to the first. You are going to love the first series’ 22nd and 23rd episodes. Epic.
Heard about the OVAs too, hope they did it good like the ones that came out after first season and a prelude to the second.
Yes school rumble is a great series. the manga was dragging a bit but now seems to picking up steam again. And get ready to join one of these factions, Flag-faction or Onigiri faction. You’ll find out what i mean as your progress through the series and interact with other school rumble fans. I am a Flag-faction fan myself.
You should just come out and say that I recommend this one… along with Marmalade Boy, Sketchbook, Idolmaster, and sola… and like pretty much everything you’ve watched in the last 5 months. 😉

Harima is sur the main attraction, but I particularly appreciate Akira too. Her interventions are awesome, and she has a bit more screen-time in second season.

School rumble was probably one of the first love/comedy anime for me. I can’t put into words how much I love it, its just too big a scale.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy watching it! Trust me when I say you’d be spoiled for any other anime though! xD
