It's been not only a long time since I've posted here, but it has been a long time since I shared photos of my place. The last time you guys saw where I lived I was still living at home with my parents. It was back in 2012, so easily 4 years ago you saw my collection. Now you can see not only has my… [more]
So since I've moved into my new apartment I still hadn't set up my photography studio. Seems work has me busier than I thought I would ever be, however I took some time this past weekend to set up my studio so I could take some photos of my latest purchase, Alter's 1/8th Melty from Shining Hearts. Now… [more]
Pre-ordered this figure the moment she was released for pre-order. I needed for for multiple reasons, she's sexy/half naked, plus while she's not Sora she reminds me of Sora from Yosuga no Sora! But she's Yuki from Maid Yome and she's pretty amazing. The only issue is her adorable mouth really looks… [more]
I recently went on a trip to a magical place, The Container Store. Ok it's not really magical, but I happen to have discovered a love for organizing my home. I tend to prefer Ikea and Daiso but we went to The Container Store on a whim and I discovered this lovely storage container! I've been needing… [more]
Who knew that one of the most beautiful figures in my entire collection would be my most difficult to shoot. Alter 1/8 Fate Testarossa, one of my most precious figures in my entire collection. I looked everywhere for her and finally found her a few months ago.
I think i also paid the most for Fate with shipping including, yet she was worth every penny.
This is one of the rare figures that I have no complaints about.
But she was a pain to take pictures of. I had to switch it to Manual Focus since the auto would pick up every other part of the figure but the parts i wanted it to focus on.
That look in her eyes, just astounding.
She wants to kill you!
Now she wants to kill you, cause you saw her panties!
She isn’t really big, more like her cape makes her takes up plenty of space.
She does just bring all the attention, even when my family came to visit. Everyone’s favorite was Fate, she’s so astounding you could just have her in your living room as a work of art.
Getting Fate made me realize that if there is a figure that i like i can’t hesitate to order her. If i miss out i might end up paying boatloads more for something i needed to get in the first place. Not getting her the first time was one of the biggest mistakes in my entire time collecting figures. I loved her design and everything about her, but didn’t get her cause i hadn’t seen Nanoha yet and i didn’t want to get figures from series i hadn’t seen. I’ve not realized that when i have that mentality of buying figures I end up buying bad figures and passing up the amazing figures. Since I’ve decided to buy figures because I like them and not for character I’ve amassed a collection that I’m so proud of.What do you decide to buy figures on? Do you do like i used to and only get figures of characters you like or do you buy them just because you think they are just amazing like I do?

Wow… she is wonderful… gorgeous gorgeous figure, your right, her eyes are amazing, much life. If I saw her for the right price, I might, but otherwise she’s not an essential buy for me. Makoto and Ayu were. Makoto is still my most expensive…though if I spring for Shirley like I’m tempted to…. she’ll be the 2nd most expensive… and Ayu in 3rd, or Nagi…. not sure lol…
I have to say I do mostly buy because I like the figure. But more recently I’m sticking with characters I like and if their figure is decent enough. (Like the Freeing Nagi I’ve got preordered lol.) Though most of my current collection is based on looks not character, hopefully it’ll change through the course of this year.
Meimi132s last blog post..30,000 views! Thank you!
Beautiful shots! For me it’s kinda the same mentality as dolls ^^; if I like a doll and have a chance (and $) to get her I better get sooner than later otherwise I’ll beat myself up so much later on when the prices goes up 😛

This Fate figure is such a beast of awesomeness. I buy figures I like and don’t wait to only buy characters I know. Half these figures are from eroge I’ll never play anyway.

I will get her after a price drop

I still get figures from characters that I like because if I don’t, I would’ve been broke by now. Sadly, I regret not getting her as I chose the GSC version instead. She’s back in her box now as I kinda got her on a whim. T_T

That looks amazing! Looking at this reminds me why I love figures so much. It’s like reaching your hand into a TV or computer monitor and plucking out your favorite character(s). This figure here looks like it *leapt* off the screen! That’s how awesomely intense it looks.
My oh my another Person with a beatiful nature scenery as background.I envy you guys!

@Otaku Dan:
doubt that’ll happen
@Optic:
it’s funny how i don’t really like the gsc ver. it’s not as dramtic and eye catching as the Alter ver is
@Vanessa:
exactly why i had to own this verion of Fate
@Blowfish:
it was actully a pain to get these shots since it’s been too cloudy, i wwanted clouds in the background but when it got too cloudy i didn’t get enough light
@DQ

Wonderful pictures of one of the best figures ever made.
Lately, I have been making an effort to aquire the Alter Nanoha figures that I had been neglecting to pick up. Living in Japan, I have seen Alter Fate several times but she goes for 20,000 yen. I don’t think shes pending a rerelease like Reinforce Zwei, so if I really want to add her to my collection…
Your pictures are sure making me think about it. ^_^
@DQ
Back when I first got into figures, I bought figures I liked impulsively because I remember at a con there was something I liked. Wanted to think about it first. Came back 30 minutes later and it was gone. Weeks passed and I still wanted it and I couldn’t find it. That feeling left a burning scar.
But now because of space and money issues, I hold myself back. I try to only buy figures that I’ve seen the anime to. There have been many very nice figures that I’ve passed on. Like the Good Smile Company Miku Hatsune figure and figma. OH MY GOD she is cute. But I don’t have a personal connection to her. She’s not even from an anime, but some kind of singing software. So I kind of want to try out whatever she is from first before getting the figure.
I now try to only buy that 1 super awesome figure a year. Whatever that may be. It looks to be that Saber Lily so far. A friend suggested that it’s better to spend a $100 on a really great figure that makes your heart skip a beat, than 40-$60 on multiple figures that were cool. But coolness is in the eye of the beholder, and I’ve seen some reasonably priced figures around 30-40 bucks.
I was able to find Fate at DiscountAnimeDVD before they got shut down, and I’m glad I have her. She’s absolutely amazing and really stands out amongst my growing collection.
