Our apartment – 2016 NSFW

It's been not only a long time since I've posted here, but it has been a long time since I shared photos of my place. The last time you guys saw where I lived I was still living at home with my parents. It was back in 2012, so easily 4 years ago you saw my collection. Now you can see not only has my… [more]

[Alter] – Melty Review

So since I've moved into my new apartment I still hadn't set up my photography studio. Seems work has me busier than I thought I would ever be, however I took some time this past weekend to set up my studio so I could take some photos of my latest purchase, Alter's 1/8th Melty from Shining Hearts. Now… [more]

Pre-ordered this figure the moment she was released for pre-order. I needed for for multiple reasons, she's sexy/half naked, plus while she's not Sora she reminds me of Sora from Yosuga no Sora! But she's Yuki from Maid Yome and she's pretty amazing. The only issue is her adorable mouth really looks… [more]

Nendoroid Storage Container

I recently went on a trip to a magical place, The Container Store. Ok it's not really magical, but I happen to have discovered a love for organizing my home. I tend to prefer Ikea and Daiso but we went to The Container Store on a whim and I discovered this lovely storage container! I've been needing… [more]

My Flight, Totally Unexpected

Today my flight to Mexico wasn’t that bad. Compared to flights i’ve had in the past here people have treated me poorly or i didn’t get the seat that i paid for. Today’s flight none of those problems. In all honesty it was a good flight, but for one person on the flight, we can all agree it was their worst flight ever.I won’t beat around the bush and elaborate too much, but a woman died on my flight today.

The reason I went to Mexico was to drop off my Grandmother, she’s 80 years old and while she can handle the flight and very well get around by herself we feel safer having someone go with her every time she flies anywhere. Today it was my turn so that is the reason I’m only here for two days. We get on the plane and are sitting in seats 1E and 1F, front row middle and window seat to the right of the plane. We sit down and a flight attendant asks if i can move so i can give some lady who is sick my seat, i tell them that I’m in charge of my grandma and won’t move since it’s the entire reason why i came so they let me stay. They put her and her husband in the row beside us, 1A and 1B. About 20 minutes before our flights lands all the flight attendants are surrounding this lady and her husband. Mind you she’s not old but I’d say 30-35ish. They then ask the people on board if there i a doctor on the plane, two men come rushing up to check up on her. From what i she she’s very pale and not moving yet her eyes are open and they are giving her oxygen so i think “maybe she’s just a bit dizzy.”

We finally land and they tell us to stay seated while they get a medical team to take the lady from the plane. We land they bring in some EMTs and they check her out, next i know they are covering her face, my grandma tells me that she’s dead. I try and calm my grandma and tell her “no, maybe she’s just cold.” The husband is sitting there crying and they bring in police to get him to sign paperwork yet they aren’t taking her off the flight. They finally let me and my grandma off the plane and i ask a nearby flight attendant what happened? He tells me that she died mid flight.

So I have to say this is a huge shock to me right now, the lady did seem pretty sick when they brought her onto the plane and i truly wonder why they even let her on if she was so sick. Either way it was a night that just keeps replaying in my head. Other than this and the creepy old man sitting next to me telling me how pretty my eyes are the flight was good.

Well now i just want this weekend to be over and to go home, yet lets hope no one dies on the flight back!

    Damn, i guess RIP to the lady.

    Yikes…that gives me a reason to no longer complain about my flight to Florida a few years ago.

    I think it was a combination of the woman’s illness and the pressure she must have felt when the plane was taking off that killed her. It’s amazes me that one could be sitting next to or near someone who’s alive one minute and dead the next. I’m sure your grandmother must have been just as shocked as you were.

    That sounds awful, I hope you and your Grandma didn’t get too much of shock and that you’re both good now. The same thing happened to my Dad once, only he was sitting right next to the person who died, it’s so sad.

  7. Hageshii_AME says:

    That’s just… wow… we had one man he had a heart attack towards the end of the flight and they had to take him off the plane in a stretcher, but nothing that serious.

    I hope you have a safe flight back!

  8. louki says:

    I’m sorry to hear that but this could’ve been worse if that person have turned into a zombie, infect all the passengers and by the way, causing the plane to crash (probably killing more peoples in the explosion and rise the pollution).

    Seriously, maybe you don’t have the heart to laugh but like a certain leader once said “death smiles at us all, all a man can do is smile back”

    PS: i like the way you try to calm your grandma by telling her that the person is maybe just cold…

    wow… that must of been scary, I wonder what she died of

  10. Weekend at Bernie’s is funny because the sudden death happens to somebody else, and played for laughs because he was an awful man. When a similar thing happens to you, it’s traumatic and you might have nightmares for years.

    Anyway, my grandma died last year, but the night after she died, I had a vision of her with her as a young woman planting vegetables in a garden. She seemed so calm, and said “Don’t worry about me, Jake, I’m happy now”. As for what she looked like as a young woman, I was shocked because I never knew my grandma when she was young, because in the vision she looked like a G-MILF, and I mean that in the most respectful way possible. Heh. When I remember that vision it always helps me deal with the loss because I can think of hip, young, Gardening Mama grandma, instead of the grandma who used to yell at my Dad a lot for swearing in front of me and my bro when she was in the room.

    I have the deepest sympathies for you, because I lost my grandma too. Hope this little story helps.

  11. Eep..that seems like a rather intense experience. :<

    I’m wondering why she would still fly when she’s that ill, but it would be really sad if she wanted to see someone/somewhere one last time.

    @amyboo:
    the guy who was sitting next to her moved once they called the doctors over

    @Hageshii_AME:
    if only they took her off the plane, i would have felt better and not known she was dead at all

    @louki:
    thanks for that, it did make me laugh really hard

    @Karen:
    i wonder too, maybe she was just so sick that she just couldn’t handle the air pressure?

    @Asperger’s Anime Blogger:
    well i’m not sure fi you understood really… my grandma didn’t die, she was with me on the flight but someone who i don’t know at all died on my flight… but otherwise very touching story

    @Coco the Bean:
    thats what we thought, maybe she wanted to go to die someplace but just didn’t make it

    That was very scary, I have to say, the Flight Company should have been more strict in situation on whether they should board a sick person on the plane. They have less attention to that.

  18. Arelym says:

    I only recently came across your blog and this is an odd first place to comment, but I just had to say something. If you think about this from a purely logical and practical perspective, there is nothing to get shaken up about. You do not know that person; they mean nothing to you. There is nothing “scary,” as so many comments are saying, about it. So what is bothering you?

    What is truly troubling about such experiences is that they remind us of our own mortality. It is an all too real and visceral reminder of the ephemerality of life. In a span shorter than a plane ride, anyone could suffer a similar fate. This is not something we typically enjoy being reminded of.

    The thing is, I do not believe this is something you should forget, push out of your mind. Instead, let it serve as a reminder of just how precious the time we have truly is. Remember that our fleeting existence is something that should be enjoyed to it’s fullest and to cherish times of happiness. Likewise, when times are bad, remember just how easily things could be much worse and be thankful that you are so lucky that they are not.

    Of course with that supremely enviable figure collection of yours, I would be outraged if you felt anything but happy, lucky, and thankful =P I am so, very, very, jealous…

    Anyway, I hope you’re feeling a little better now that it’s been a few days.

    Take care.
