It's been not only a long time since I've posted here, but it has been a long time since I shared photos of my place. The last time you guys saw where I lived I was still living at home with my parents. It was back in 2012, so easily 4 years ago you saw my collection. Now you can see not only has my… [more]
So since I've moved into my new apartment I still hadn't set up my photography studio. Seems work has me busier than I thought I would ever be, however I took some time this past weekend to set up my studio so I could take some photos of my latest purchase, Alter's 1/8th Melty from Shining Hearts. Now… [more]
Pre-ordered this figure the moment she was released for pre-order. I needed for for multiple reasons, she's sexy/half naked, plus while she's not Sora she reminds me of Sora from Yosuga no Sora! But she's Yuki from Maid Yome and she's pretty amazing. The only issue is her adorable mouth really looks… [more]
I recently went on a trip to a magical place, The Container Store. Ok it's not really magical, but I happen to have discovered a love for organizing my home. I tend to prefer Ikea and Daiso but we went to The Container Store on a whim and I discovered this lovely storage container! I've been needing… [more]
This trip has honestly been just so much fun! We went to Merida, Yucatan for a few reasons; 1.) It’s the birthplace of not only my mother but my grandmother 2.) The family hadn’t been back in 46 years 3.) It was a family reunion, since out of 5 siblings they haven’t gotten together in a very long time.
Our plane there was two separate flights, first from LAX to Mexico City. We had a red eye flight that left at 12:24am. I have to say this flight was pretty good, the plane had an on board movie Flawless with Demi Moore, kinda bad but still entertaining to watch. We left right on time with this flight the plane took off at exactly 12:24 so we were pretty excited!
But then from here it was a 4 hour wait in Mexico City for the next flight. Normally i sleep in the plane but my mom got sick during the first flight so i took care of her during the flight and by the time we got to Mexico city i was pooped!
I think they purposefully design these chairs to be very uncomfortable and not to be able to sleep on. This is my mom and me passed out while waiting for our next flight. You can thank my dad for these pictures.
I’m the queen of finding random places to sleep on and worming my way to making them somehow comfortable.
Once we got to Merida is was like walking into a very humid oven. It was soooooo hot but really after like a day i was used to it. Since at least the car and the hotel had a/c i was good.
In the airport was my family waiting and the newest addition to the family, my Oldest cousin Rocio had a baby 1year and 8 months ago. This adorable little girl is Valeria and I Love this little girl! Isn’t she cute?
Then we went out to eat at this one place which i don’t have a picture of for some reason, really good food and i ate Huevos Motulenos. This is one of my most favorite foods in the world and my mom makes it all the time! It’s typical food of this region! Then we went to our hotel to crash for the night since no one had really slept in a long time.
Next morning we went to the other hotel everyone else stayed at. We stayed at a very nice Holiday inn while the rest of the family stayed in this one ladies house. Like a bed and breakfast but it was weird and uncomfortable. The a/c didn’t work well neither did the toilets and I was glad we had gotten our own hotel instead. Here Valeria wanted to have her glasses on her head like me and once i got them on her head she wanted her picture taken! She’s so cute!
At breakfast with Rocio, the momma of Valeria. She’s 30 something from what i remember. Last time i saw her was at her wedding so it was so weird to see her as a mom now, but she’s a great mom!
After breakfast we headed for Dzibilchaltun (say that 5 times fast :P) It’s one of the Mayan Pyramids around.
Dzibilchaltun is a smaller pyramid and it was a terrible walk to get there, we were being attacked by mosquitoes the entire way!
We then walked to a Cenote at Dzbilchaltun. The water was so clear and amazing, it was nice to take a dip! After this when we started walking out i saw a snake. Needless to say i freaked out, Now don’t think i freaked out like “oh oh a snake!” I saw the snake, ran as far away from it as my legs could take me then once i was away i collasped on the floor screaming my lungs out. Not sure if i’ve mentioned this before but i have a terrible phobia of snakes. I’m shaking now while i’m writing about seeing this snake. But well i guess my screaming scared everyone in the water since they thought that i got bitten by something in the water and when i screamed everyone jumped out of the Cenote as fast as they could. I was so embarrassed walking back since people were staring at me since after my little episode they closed the Cenote for the rest of the day. I kinda ruined those nice people’s day. 🙁 After this we went to Progresso, Yucatan where i didn’t take any pictures sadly.
But we did have some yummy fish, i did have to make him face my mom though since i can’t eat anything that is staring at me…
This is after we got through the little guy, First thing my brother’s girlfriend said is that we didn’t eat the face. Of course i didn’t eat the face! Would you like someone else to eat your face? I couldn’t. Only reason i’m not a vegetarian is that baby cow taste too damn good to give up.
The Next day we went for a boat ride at Celestun, Yucatan to see Flamingos. The ride was terrifying, the driver drove way too fast and i swear that i thought the boat was going to break the entire ride.
Guy behind me is the boat driver. He seemed a little too smiley here…
But the view was amazing, the sky had just the right amount of clouds in it.
This Tree was FULL of pelicans! I wish i could have had a better picture since you can’t see them all but i swear it had like 30-40 pelicans in it.
Then the guy took us into this clearing in the trees, i swear it was like we were in jungle cruise at Disneyland but this time it was real!
Then afterwards we headed home to eat some dinner. We had Salbutes which were turkey tacos. Yummy!The next day i was sick 🙁 So no pictures from this day, I was so sad to be sick since this was the day my family was going to Chichen Itza, the huge Mayan Pyramid thats uber popular.
The next day we went to Cancun, and i have to say i was disappointed. It’s so touristy and while some people have been saying that that is the point of Cancun I’d rather have regular old Mexico over Cancun any day. It’s like Las Vegas with a Beach.
Plus having my legs looks like this and itch like crazy also didn’t help my mood one bit. This wasn’t even the worst of it, it got worse as the vacation went on but i didn’t take pictures since it looked SOOO bad.
sitting at the beach playing with the baby! I’m the one in the black swimsuit with pink and while polka dots. Then it’s my Grandma in the wheelchair (she only has it since it’s easier for us when we travel since she can’t walk very fast), my mom in the beach swimsuit my aunt in the white shirt and my cousin behind the baby.
Cancun was so americanized we ate at Mcdonalds for lunch. since there were no Mexico places in the area… Seriously you fly thousands of miles to eat the same crap you find at home? No thanks…
Next day my dad was awesome and decided to go again to Chichen Itza since i missed it last time. right before we stopped at a restaurant where they had dancers dressed in the traditional clothing of the area.
We got to Chicen Itza and i was super excited! The atmosphere at the entrance was just full of excitement!
Chichen Itza was amazing! It’s something everyone needs to see at least once in their life!
A sign that says you can’t climb on the pyramids. while this would seem normal before you were allowed to climb up them. But then one day they discovered someone graffiti the top and they cleaned it up and closed it off. while it’s sucks to not be able to go up it it’s also good since this way they can preserve it for future generations to come!
This is something i love about Meixco, all around the pyramid were street vendors selling souvenirs. But a warning, if you ever go try your best to not speak English. The moment they know you aren’t Mexican they charge you more than regular. I was going to buy an umbrella since the sun was pounding and the price tag said 12 pesos. Thats about $1.20 USD so i was said ok i’ll take it. Then the lady pulls the price tag off and says no it’s 60 pesos about $6 USD. I then turn to my mom and in english say “well hey it’s still only about $6 bucks” The lady then goes, “Oh Americanos! 120 pesos! $12 USD. So thats my story of why you shouldn’t speak english! It sucks but they have to make a living as well i guess.
Now with my Phobia of Snakes people often wonder if i’m scared of any other animal. Well i’m not really. While i’d stay away from a raging lion i won’t freak out like i would a caged snake. I LOVE Frogs and Lizards too! So much so when we saw an iguana we ran close to it to get some pictures!
My boyfriend thinks that i’m not scared about the biting factor but the fact that it has no legs. The slithering gets to me… Oh i just got s chill down my spine thinking of that… :'(
second to last day there we headed to another Mayan Ruin and the beach. On the way we found this awesome site. Turns out hurricane Gilbert that came about 16 years ago wiped out most of the roads and cities nearby and made all this area flooded so the fishermen come here to park their boats.
No trip is complete without something weird happening to the car, while driving suddenly my dad kinda swerves then stops. He says he thinks we have a flat tire so we get out to look and this is what we see!
The tire expert of my boyfriend says that it’s a defect in the tire and that we were lucky that this didn’t pop while we were driving or it would have been pretty bad. WE saw this and then my dad was going to drive a bit to look for a place to change the tire and when he closed the driver side door it popped. Sounded like someone shooting a gun!
But they we still had a spare tire and this didn’t ruin our day at all!
We even still made it to the Mayan Ruins.
Awww the Baby being cute! This was at the beach after the pyramids, i didn’t’ go into the water since i was so burned from Cancun. So i spent the time taking pictures of the baby! She’s so cute!
and no trip is complete without some anime Merchandise! found this Hentai magazine but my mom wouldn’t let me get it. Mom’s are lame when it comes to pr0n.
But she did let me get these! Card Captor Sakura Manga Chapters In Spanish!
They were done really well, the translations were pretty good and they went from right to left as well.
this really was an amazing trip! i’m sorry for this super long post, it was supposed to be a post each day but i ended up being so tired every night that i couldn’t even get online to check comments sometimes. Well after this I’ve got one more post about this trip but more of Lelouch’s own Vacation. Expect that soon!
Oh and Happy Birthday to Benu from Anime Genesis!

I would have bought that magazine later when no one was looking. No way I pass up on a magazine with Slutty princess mentioned and HiME pictured on the cover. Just for giggles of course. Not to mention the oh so bad ExXxOTIC Man title.
So how exactly does one pronounce “Dzibilchaltun” exactly?
Welcome back to California!
deftoneds last blog post..Haruka’s day as a stalker and an Ueda Kana “sighting”
I should have gone back and bought it anyways! Just replace the Dz with sc like science and pronounce it phonetically.
nice snaps!! thanks for sharing. I’ve heard it said the face of the fish is the tastiest, but, like you, I ain’t messing with that! looks like it was nice and sunny for photography, anyhow, eh?
The food! The beach! The sun! The Food!!! And yea, the face of the fish IS the tastiest, you should offer it to me the next time you refuse it XD

oh man, your sleeping skill is rare. How can you even lie like that without dropping on the floor o.0. Celestún looks really nice. Yup, it looks like you had a great time. >.> I only have a week vacation this year and I remain in my little country. Well, I guess I can spend out the money for all other ‘useless’ goodies.

mexico looks so beautiful and i would like to visit it someday. you should have bought that magazine, the article on slutty princess is very interesting
The expression on the face of the boat driver is just priceless. That sound like “Mmmm, would be cool if she ask me for a ride alone with her” ^^;
Anyway, thanks for sharing your trip !
Mexico is awesome indeed ^^ .
Hey I was on vacation right next door to you in Guatemala! I just got back a few days ago too. Chichen Itza looks great, I’d really like to go sometime. I was able to visit the ruins in Tikal which was really interesting (and really hot -_-;).
I just discovered your blog and have been reading it a lot since I got interested in collecting figures. Keep up the good work 🙂
How did that May 2007 volume of ExXxotic go over 14+ months without selling?
Your description of Mexico reminds me of India: sickness, mosquitos all over the place, snakes roaming around, and everyone trying to rip off foreigners, but at least the food looked good. Indian food is terrible, though it’s great if you’re looking to go on a diet. The food is so disgusting that refusing to eat is really easy. I went to India when I was 10 years old and 95 pounds. When I got back 2 months later, I was 85 pounds, a 10.5% decrease in body mass.
@Hiro:
it could taste amazing, but if i have to pick it off the face i wont’ eat it…
@issa-sa:
ok next time i go come with me and i’ll give you all the fish face you can eat ^_~

Oh i love Mexico City, my aunt lives like right beside Six Flags Mexico. But i love the city, it’s so awesome and the food is great. I want to go back now 🙁

@Baka-Raptor:
